Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire
Heh. Why can't I hear that without giggling? Oh yeah, because I'm 12.
So on Christmas Eve, we served a big dinner for my dad, Girlie, Luke, Aud, Steve and Mike, courtesy of mostly Geo and a little bit me.
The Menu:
The same turkey we had for Thanksgiving (but not the same exact one, because that would be gross) and mushroom gravy
Garlic mashed potatoes
Sauteed Onions, Red, Yellow and Green Bell Peppers
Corn
Chicken and Herb stuffing
Buttery crescent rolls
Spaghetti
Vegetable Lasagna
Macaroni pasta aka "Mish-Mosh" (Mike) or "Aud-Style" (Aud)
Asparagus with Hollandaise sauce
Spinach dip and warm pita bread
Some really good fish that I have no idea what it is because G brought it
Homemade soft-center chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream (Courtesy of G)
After dinner we opened up the presents, which was awesome because Christmas is about quadruple times as fun when you have kids. Luke and G took a break from opening presents to get Aud into the sack:
Sorry, it was a literal thing. Stop being so dirty. It's Christmas for God's sake.
Before they left, I wrapped up some spaghetti and macaroni pasta for Aud, Steve and Mike. I had one for G too but she left it behind. In case you're as obsessed with food also and wondering what the difference is between the dishes, they're exactly the fricken same. Except G likes it with spaghetti and hot dogs (Filipino style) and Aud likes it with macaroni pasta. And since my friends are so great, I made it each of the ways they wanted. Even though it's fricken the same damn thing!!
The Loot:
The twins got an enormous quantity of stuff, courtesy of their relatives, Lani, Steve, the Godparent Dream Team and their families, with more in the queue. It almost makes me feel guilty to be the first one of our close friends to have kids. But my friends love my kids and vice versa. My living room is like the World of Little People now. As in the Fisher-Price toys, not midgets. My Little People OCD is over as of this point, because there's really nothing left to want.
Geo got liquor, chocolate, some PS2 games, a gift card to Best Buy and a faux fur throw blanket with a tag that read "To Geo (but really Riss), Love Aud." Yes. I realize my family and friends spoil me. Girlie got me some MAC make-up (right in time, since my lipliner is now about the size of a match) and the preferred edition of Kurt Busch's Justice League car with Superman on the hood. Aud got me chocolate (score) and two books from my Froogle wishlist, The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror by Christopher Moore and Mirror Mirror by Gregory Maguire. Tony got me the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King extended DVD edition and a Raiders jersey which I am wearing even as I type, not that they deserve it after that ridiculous display in the last minute against Kansas City yesterday. Abel got me a Triple Five Soul jacket and a gift card to Barnes and Noble. The jacket is cool, it has these straps on the inside which I at first thought were for my Sig holster but are really for if you don't want to wear your jacket anymore but are afraid to lose it. Mike J got me the entire NASCAR Justice League car replica set (he gets insane at Christmas) which effectively yet happily ends my OCD in that department as well. Kwame got me a book to decipher all the idiotic dreams that I have and the first season of the Chapelle show on DVD. My dad and in-laws gave us money which is always more than welcome. Janelle and Manny got us wine glasses and wine tags, Steve got us some Grey Goose and Net hooked us up with a cute picture frame. But my best gift of all was from Geo. He asked me what the ideal gift he could give me was and I said I wanted to spend Christmas with my Dad and so he got him a plane ticket out here. I love my husband. But you all knew that!
And I love my friends too. You guys absolutely rock!!!

thanks for having us over! i was so pissed when i realized i left my spaghetti behind! I almost turned around but i was already 45 minutes north of your house when i realized it (actually, my stomach realized it coz i was getting hungry!)
Proof that Aud is white. Just look at our skin tones.. she is pretty much the same as mine.. just look at your's and Steve's... 'nuff said.
Thanks for the dinner!!! G you lost all claim to your food once you left it behind. If it's still there, I or Aud will eat it.

Hey Riss,
Thanks for the half-and-half 'mish-mosh' (and Geo for the turkey). Just thought I'd let you know that the 'spaghetti and hot dogs' half was devoured before the 'Aud-style' macaroni half. And that was before sunrise on Christmas day ...
=)
I'm glad you guys came too! Aud has already laid claim to any of the pasta left in the fridge. She can eat food that's been in the fridge for days like it's new.
Not if I visit first. Any Riss pasta left in the fridge will be finished by me.
