Game 4

Game 4

Game 4 is tomorrow... *sigh* you know what really bugs me... it's not that the Nets have lost 3 games but rather that they finally have a chance to show the world what they can do and all the world is seeing is crappy basketball. That's not the team I watched all season. And where the hell is Kerry Kittles? He's always been erratic but to be one of their top offensive weapons and then disappear in the FINALS is just ridiculous. And I make excuses for them and their susceptibility to mental pressure but in the end there's really no excuse. Not at this time, not at this level, not in the championship series. They're so apprehensive out there as a whole. No one's getting in Shaq's way (who can blame them but it's what needs to be done) and no one other than JKidd and KMar are willing to take shots. Why is Kittles taking a couple shots and missing then giving up? Has he not been nailing threes all season and during the playoffs? Why can't they step it up with any type on consistence, from the get-go?? Why do they have to get down by like 20 points, come back then lose it at the end of the 4th like a rookie team?

And it really really sucks as a Nets fan because there've been so many ups and downs through the past 6 years. They sucked for a long time and then made it to the playoffs in '98 only to be taken out in a sweep by the Bulls. Then they got "Star"bury which was exciting but he inevitably proved to be as selfish a point as they come. I still can't believe why a point would think he should run the ball up the court AND always be the first offensive look. Then Jayson Williams broke his leg. And Jayson was like that team's rock. Then they were plagued by injuries galore: Van Horn, Kittles, Kendall Gill etc... Then everyone got healthier, they picked up KMar and then last draft day picked up JKidd. Even the Eddie Griffin trade on draft day was a good one. Things were looking pretty bad ass. So they get this far, while everyone doubts them and talks smack about them... only to lose their chance to show the world what they're capable of. They're playing like garbage out there, even with their bursts. If they're goin' out I don't want to see them go out like that.
