So we talked with our new landlady and Geo and I are going to stay in our apartment. It's a big relief not to have to pack all this crap up and haul it elsewhere for a year. I was planning to move back to California this December but I'll move back next year instead. I'm very serious about this whole writing-a-book thing and think my concentration would be better here. Plus all the major publishing houses are in NY so it'll make it easier once I start trying to shop my stuff around. But I digress. The point is, we celebrated not getting kicked out of our apartment by painting it blue.

The color is "Flame Blue" but I don't think that fits. If I remember correctly from all the flaming Dr. Pepper shots I've done (pour a shot of Amaretto coated with Bacardi 151, light it, then drop it into a mug of light beer filled about three-quarters of the way and down the whole thing. Once in Brother Jimmy's, there was flaming spillage and I had to pause in mid-gulp to blow out the bar counter...) Anyway, if I remember correctly, the blue of the flame is more vivid than my walls. In the picture though it looks "Smurf Blue." We painted the moldings and doorways "Wild Mint" which is a pale green color, more like sage though than celadon. Only the females and the gay men understood what I just said. I painted all through Wednesday night until about 7 am Thursday morning, then Geo and I finished it up Thursday night (through Friday morning). He has a job so he's just an industrious person but this is the kind of shit you do when you're unemployed.
