Tuesday Night Television
I actually watched American Idol in its entirety last night. That doesn't happen very often, I stopped watching after the auditions. Usually I just catch the last snippets when I turn the TV on to watch 24. But I'll give my rundown of last night's show nonetheless:
Clay - I was disappointed he didn't sing "Macho Man" by The Village People. Geo's take on him was "The guy with the ears can sing" which is totally true but to be honest the guy belongs on Broadway not MTV. I loved his song choice though, "At This Moment" by Billy Vera brought back Family Ties nostalgia.
Kim L - I don't really have an opinion on her singing. Geo plugged his ears so I guess he thought it was bad. She's really pretty but needs to stop wearing such bulky outfits because they just make her look bulkier. I'm also bothered by the fact that her skin color and hair seem to be exactly the same shade. Like that guy in elementary school who used to always wear skin-colored T-shirts.
Carmen - "Hi, um Blondie's on the phone. She's pissed that you destroyed her song." Carmen should stick to the bubble gum songs. I can't be mad at her though. She's just so cute.
Kim C - BLEEEHHHHHHH. Foul outfit, foul song selection. This girl just blows. In more way than one I'm sure.
Ricky - I thought he got Lionel's song off. Wasn't one of his better performances but still good. The scully wasn't for him. He's not ghetto fabulous or even just hip-hop enough to rock the scully. He didn't look stylin he looked like he should be skiing. If I were Ricky I'd just wear simple v-necked sweaters or turtlenecks.
Josh - He did well. I thought he, Trenyce and Ruben had the best song selections. I love that song he sang. Yeah, you read that correctly. I liked a country song.
Trenyce - I was disappointed she didn't sing "Been Caught Stealin'" by Jane's Addiction, but I thought she did well also. I don't understand why Simon cut her down so bad... he wasn't even that harsh with Carmen and Kim C and they both sucked harder than a fluffer who gets paid by the ounce. I swear Simon wouldn't be so harsh with her if she was a cute blond chic.
Ruben - He was perfect. I wouldn't have changed a thing. Please God let him have packed away the 205 jerseys for good. Where the hell is that anyway?? Since I don't recognize it I bet it's in some state that a) only has one area code and b) is the leading supplier of cotton in the continental United States.
So moving on to 24... I really have issues with Tony Almeida. Too bad he wasn't the one that was exposed to plutonium. Jack needs to drop a vial into the air duct outside his office. Michelle was annoying in the beginning but the show's writers threw in that new character who's even worse, to show some perspective. I think the moral is no matter how annoying one character is, don't complain or instead of offing her they'll instead introduce another character who is even more annoying. I find it weird that Tony Almeida doesn't support Jack a bit more. Um hello, Jack has the approval of the President of the United States for his mission. Swallow that ego for a moment, like you swallow everything else. I think it's weird that the 24 commercials are making it seem like the show is a Jack and Kate saga when they haven't even kissed, or hooked up for a quick bang behind the humvee. I like them together though. Incidentally for the 800th time, Jack is the motherfucking man. Let me just dig into this dead guy's body to find a microchip. Are the Emmys over for this year? Because if Keifer Sutherland doesn't win an Emmy for this season I'm going to mug an anti-war protestor for his sandwich board, paint "THE EMMYS ARE EVIL... DOWN WITH THE EMMYS" on it and picket outside the Academy or wherever. Or maybe I'll put "GIVE KEIFER A CHANCE" on it. Haven't decided yet. This is an important decision.
Anyhow, let me have my girly moment real quick. Did anyone else like that cute modern-day Cinderella Cover Girl commercial? Yeah I thought it was mad cute. Okay, girly moment over. Sorry for scaring you guys.
